The Boiler Room

No drag shows at this East Village bar. It’s more about hanging out with a crowd that’s so rowdy you can almost feel them buzzing. Better yet, people actually talk to strangers here. You can sense the camaraderie among the patrons. You’ll always have a really good time, and possibly make a new friend over a game of pool or pinball. An eclectic jukebox spans country, reggae, hip hop, dance, pop, rock, and oldies. It has current hits, but my faves are the old disco tunes like Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive and ABBA’s Dancing Queen.
