Located at the slope of the Miscanti Volcano, Miscanti Lagoon has a surface of 15 km2, at 4,200 masl, its neighboor Meñiques Lagoon is located 5 meters lower, with a surface of 1.5 km2. These lagoons are part of the Flamingo’s National Reserve and were witnesses of the first human settlements of the zone: about 4,000 to 3,000 B.C
