The best beach for learning to surf and the most urban beach in the region. The sea is quite unpredictable and can have weeks that are very calm and others that are very rough. Quite crowded and protected from the wind on the north side of the beach. We recommend that you only go to the beach on the north side of the beach. There are "Traditional Beach Tents" for shade on the beach. Difficult to park. We advise you to leave the car on the south side and walk along the promenade.

Realy beautiful and one of the most touristic beaches in Portugal with very good restaurantes, great seafood and tradicional dishes. Excelent for swimming. The north side is also known for its giant waves. The biggest wave ever surfed in the world was there, a few years ago. Since that, north beach is like a mecca for surfers and a lot of curious people.
