In the Planetarium’s amazing Digital Theatre you can relax and experience our planet and beyond; take a tour of the night sky, or even discover some of the myths behind the star constellations. Each show is a memorable experience and one that you will treasure. Armagh Planetarium is open Monday-Saturday from 10:00 - 17:00.

The Armagh Observatory is a modern astronomical research institute with a rich heritage. Founded in 1789 by Archbishop Richard Robinson, the Observatory is one of the UK and Ireland's leading scientific research establishments. Around 25 astronomers are actively studying Stellar Astrophysics, the Sun, Solar System astronomy, and the Earth's climate. There are daily shows at the planetarium for all ages but tickets must be pre-booked. Please see the website for further details.

The late Sir Patrick Moore, probably the world’s most famous TV astronomer, spent three years in the 1960s overseeing the building of Armagh Planetarium as a complement to its Observatory.
