Cartagena is a beautiful traditional Spanish city, steeped in Naval history. Boat trips are available around the bay and there are plenty of family run restaurants and boutiques. Cartagena is also home to an indoor food market and a beautiful Cathedral.

Cartagena, a gorgeous fishing village on Colombia's Caribbean coast, has excellent beaches, a historic old town (that's entirely walkable) and beautiful colonial architecture. It's also one of the safest places in the country, so it's no wonder it's a popular port of call for cruise ships. Need a break from exploring the cobblestone streets? Stop at an outdoor cafe for excellent pastries and people-watching.

The many Roman sites in Cartagena -Capital City of the Romans in Spain, 209 BC- as well as the rich historic background, having hosted settlements from several civilizations like the Phoenitians make it the most visited town in the area. Certainly its Roman Anphi-Theater will make your mind drift off 2000 years back in time!
