This stay & the whole experience was outstanding, even for me, a veteran Airbnber.
A. Pros-so many 😊
1.Dream fairytale cottage- made of totally indigenous ,no plastic material- built of bamboo, lime & clay-total privacy amidst a jungle, with constant view & sound of brook,even small waterfall
2. Wonderful to see a former rubbish dump transformed by permaculture Interesting to meet volunteers from all over India
3. Super-tasty, fresh, homecooked meals.Wonderful breakfast included in stay
4. Water pressure amazing in spacious, clean bathroom
5. Amazing free experential tour in the property( opened our eyes to secrets of permaculture)


B.
Cons- not any for us, but good to know-
1. Not for any person with mobility issues( many stone steps down to cottage)
2. Only veg meals served( many non veg eateries outside property)
3. Wifi patchy but u r in the jungle! Who cares!

We really enjoyed our stay at Tieedi. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and it genuinely feels like they’re building a community that’s making a positive difference.

The room was cosy and comfortable, with a really comfy bed. The food was great, and we loved eating together and chatting with everyone. It felt relaxed and genuine.

Staying in the forest was a great way to disconnect and slow down. The tours were a highlight, especially visiting the local zero-waste village and seeing how Tieedi manages waste for the local area and educates the community was so impressive.

They’re doing something truly good here. We left wishing there were more places like this in India.

The moment my friends and I arrived we were greeted by a member of the TIEEDI team and were meticulously looked after from that moment until the end of our stay. Utsaw and and his team are incredibly knowledgeable, capable and have the right drive that is required to run this operation with the correct intentions. I was impressed with the accommodation and enjoyed spending time with the other guests in the communal spaces. The energy flow through this property was incredibly positive and I would recommend it to anyone who has a reasonable level of fitness and can genuinely appreciate the ethos of the place and their approach to everything they do. Having chats with Utsaw was incredibly enjoyable and if I am ever in the area again, I will look forward to revisiting TIEEDI.

Tieedi was more than just a homestay for us. Snehal helped us right from our journey from Darjeeling to Tieedi and there can’t be enough words for the delicious food she prepared for us for both the days. An aesthetic mudhouse nestled amidst the forest with the sound of the stream nearby was the highlight of the stay. Enjoyed the company of Chungi and Coco. Due to the rains we were not able to complete the forest hike but we will be there again for another homely weekend or a week maybe very soon.
