We booked this experience as an alternative to excursions offered by our cruise ship...we wanted to do something different than see alligators or go to disney. For me this was a bucket list check box and the highlight of our cruise! Rich was an experienced teacher and had us up surfing in no time! Our day was on the edge of hurricane Erin and Rich changed our location to make sure we had a safe area and proper waves to learn on...I appreciated and respected his acknowledgement and concern about the weather. We were a bit nervous but he was both realistic(you will fall, the board might hit you if you lose control of it so protect your head)very encouraging and it was a great day. I will definitely be surfing again...hopefully I'll be back in his area to surf with him and learn the next step!

Our lesson with Rich was a pleasure! Everything was a breeze - booking, communication, location and catching the first wave! We originally reserved an afternoon appointment & Rich contacted us asking if we would be willing to move our lesson time up. I am so happy he did because the beach was crowded by the time the afternoon rolled around.
Rich was through with his overview & had the kids up & riding the first wave they attempted! Rich stayed in the water with them & assisted with holding their boards & lining them up for a successful ride. We all had a blast with Rich’s lesson. Nothing but smiles from the group!
The location was more of a local’s access which, I believe, helped with the number of beachgoers & the parking was free! (remaining patient while searching for a parking spot was required) Go early & don’t forget the sunscreen & umbrella! Thank you Rich & Space Coast Surf!

Rich kept the instructions simple and easy to follow. My kids liked that he was funny. I was shocked that everyone was able to get up on the board. It was tons of fun!
