Erlap was kind enough to pick me up from my hotel, which I really appreciated. As an Autistic person, I struggle with directions I’m okay with left, right, or straight, but anything like north or west confuses me. He was very understanding about that. I also mentioned that I feel self-conscious in front of the camera and don’t enjoy posing, and he respected that without any pressure. I’m really grateful for how thoughtful and accommodating he was.
I wanted this picture as a memory of my solo trip and as a reminder of how far I’ve come with my mental health, especially managing severe anxiety.
