Absolutely fabulous stay! We had a late check-in and they waited up for us. The apartment has everything you could possibly need, from snacks and guides to toiletries and cooking equipment .Super location. We can’t recommend enough!

I just finished a wonderful two-night stay at Nao and Masa's apartment in Shinjuku. Everything about my time there exceeded my expectations.

First, Nao and Masa were very clear and quick in their communications. When I arrived Masa was there to greet me and hand off the keys, as we had planned. Despite his limited English and my almost non-existent Japanese he was able explain the small details of the apartment (light and temperature controls, etc.,) without any miscommunication. Furthermore, he offered me many great tips about local bars (you have to check out Golden Gai), retaurants, shopping and attractions. The whole arrival and explanation lasted about ten minutes.

I was having one of those lonely traveller days when I arrived at Nao and Masa's, but their kindness and hospitality immediately lifted my mood. There were tons of fresh towels, bottled water, tea and coffee, a basket of snack food, and even a dozen ice cold beers and alcoholic drinks in the fridge. All of these were free! It was so nice to have a snack or beer handy so I could settle in before heading out to explore the area.

Speaking of the location, it is exactly as described. Shinjuku-Gyoen garden is less than one minute away. Shinjuku-Gyoemmae station (exit 1) is even closer. It took me less than ten minutes to walk to the bright lights of Shinjuku, and even less time to reach Golden Gai. The neighbourhood, like all parts of Tokyo I visited, felt safe and was surprisingly quiet for being so close to such a busy area.

Long story short, if you are an individual or couple this is a great little (quite little, but that's Tokyo) place with just the most tremendous hosts. To top it off, Nao gave me a box of Japanese confectioneries as a parting gift. Wow!
