Před 3 týdnyIf you are reading this, it’s likely you are going to Nagoya, so don’t think twice and book this warm and unforgettable experience.
Grandma Junko has so much knowledge, her place is spotless and very well organized.
You will spend a great time learning and talking to her, and bring home tools that may accompany you for a long time, especially if you love Japanese food.
After the class, I immediately went to buy the tool she used to make bonito flakes.
Cannot recommend this experience enough.

září 2025Our time with Grandma Junko and Chikako was simply amazing! Definitely a highlight of our time here in Japan! The cooking class itself was fun and insightful, a real glimpse into real Japanese cuisine. It was very easy to follow along with Grandma Junko’s guidance. We chose to make Nagoya’s famous chicken wings as our meal and I’m not exaggerating when I say they are the most delicious thing I’ve had in Japan so far. And it wasn’t just wings, Grandma Junko taught us how to make an entire meal! My wife and I also loved that Chikako was taking pictures and video of the experience for us to share with our family. And lastly, getting to share stories and talk with “Abuela” Junko (grandma Junko) and Chikako filled our hearts with joy. They are genuinely the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. It felt like we were spending time with our own family. This was a 10/10 experience! God bless you both!

dubna 2025A really enjoyable experience. Grandma Junko really knows her stuff. I was greeted by her assistant at the station and she escorted me to the venue. They were both incredibly helpful and patient with me during my time with them. I really appreciated all of the explanations relating to the local cuisines and how to prepare food. After the experience was over, I had accidentally left my sunglasses there. They were even kind enough to wait for me to come back and retrieve them! Would highly recommend this experience to anyone

ledna 2025I had an incredible experience at the Nagoya Meshi cooking class with Grandma Junko! From the moment I arrived at her charming traditional Japanese home near Sakurayama Station, I felt warmly welcomed.
Junko-san's passion for Nagoya's local cuisine was evident as she guided us through preparing iconic dishes like tebasaki chicken wings and Nagoya-style udon. Her instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for a novice cook like myself.
The intimate class size (just 2 participants) allowed for plenty of hands-on practice and personalized attention. Junko-san patiently answered all our questions about ingredients and techniques.
After cooking, we sat down to enjoy our creations together. The tebasaki wings were perfectly crispy and flavorful, while the Kisimen had a wonderful chewy texture.
I left with a full stomach, new cooking skills, and a deeper appreciation for Nagoya’s rich food heritage. This class is an absolute must-do for any food lover. Thank you Junko-san!
