A very unique experience in the heart of Ginza, in which you can interact with a true professional of Kabuki. Monnosuke sensei is so knowledgeable, and their family is so enjoyable. I would recommend this event to anyone who is interested in the arts, as this is such a fun art form. I enjoyed the games, the poses, and the sweets.

This is an absolute incredible experience. For anyone who is interested in Japanese theatre, art, or cultural, I cannot recommend highly enough this experience. It is such a privilege to have access to the kabuki world in such an intimate and entertaining way. It is one thing to see these actors on stage, it is an entirely different thing to be in the room with them. Ichikawa Monnosuke is a living treasure of Japan and this is a singular opportunity. In addition to the wonderful experience, the matcha is perhaps the best I have ever had. This is a must do for anyone who wants a unique Japanese cultural experience.

This is like the only guy who's been doing Kabuki his whole life that you can just book to hang out with. He's got one of those titles that you have to earn by doing Kabuki for a long time. While Monnosuke san doesn't speak English, there were translators there to explain what he was saying. He let us try some techniques like walking styles and mie (which is like a dramatic close up moment). Overall it was a pretty chill experience and at the end you get to try some Japanese sweets and fancy matcha.

As a foreigner in Japan, having the opportunity to meet and speak with a true Kabuki master was amazing. English translation was on offer, with everything being carefully explained to us.

We were able to pratice various types of Kabuki character's walking, acting, and even a few mie poses. As a definite amateur myself, I feel I learned a lot! I would definitely recommend the experience, for everyone from the learned theater professional down to the interested tourist.
