A peerless view of the old Mykonos harbor awaits guests at this fine hilltop villa, located in central Evagelistraki. A sun-kissed stone terrace, with a shining pool and decadent recliners, makes for an ideal spot for balmy mornings, paired with a chic and smart interior, restful double beds, and porcelain-white bathrooms. Cultural sites, sandy beaches, and fine, genuine restaurants are nearby.

The gentle scent of island pines invigorates the carved seats and wicker-style cushions at the home’s raised reading spot. Take in the ancient scenery, blue skies, and white houses on the coastal plain, before turning inside to the tasteful furniture and smooth, bright fixtures of the Villa proper. Make a mid-morning snack of island cheese and salad amidst the kitchen’s gleaming surfaces and appliances, with the simple, spacious wooden dining table being ideal for group lunches. The winking lights of the coast are visible from the upper balcony by night, and best admired over a freshly uncorked bottle of crisp Assyrtiko wine.

From Villa Astra, guests are moments from Mykonos’s historic town, as well as the allure of the island’s coastlines and countryside. Relaxed beaches are within a short drive, with the likes of Ftelia offering blissful sunbathing, swimming, and windsurfing. Hiking trails run through the landscape, taking in the panoramic Armenistis Lighthouse and hidden Orthodox churches. The character of the town’s Little Venice neighborhood sits alongside a huge selection of friendly tavernas and top-tier restaurants, with the ferry port opening up the Cyclades for day trips.
